The Rite of the Vanquished is a difficult and powerful ritual which is largely unknown, if not forbidden, on worlds in which it is functional.
How to do it
A circle of seven A+ or higher ranked beings is required to complete the ritual. Furthermore, an A+ level being must act as a sacrifice. The ritual is preformed by binding the sacrifice at the center of a large rune representative of the multiverse as a whole, then spacing several runic circles specifying intent. Energy (ley energy is suggested, though not required) is channeled through this focus, and into the sacrifice for a period of ten minutes, while the seven casters must alternate overseeing the circle and sigil, and keeping the area clear of ANY other influences, astral or physical. After sufficient power has been channeled, the circles, if made properly, will block out the remaining flows, and the casters have precisely twenty seconds to kill the victim before the effect becomes unstable.
What it does
At this point, an Aethic Antithesis will manifest at the central focus of power. This creature is not compelled to obey orders, but must be linked to a being within three minutes or it will return to Aethos. Should the summoners be unable to forcibly link it to whichever target they desire, it is entirely capible of linking to one of them, or all of them, thereby proving the ritual to be fatal.
How it works
The point of the energy and the circles is an enhancement of metaphysical significance in the target, and a purification of meaning. When sufficient power is channeled, the rune of the multiverse acts as a weak gate into other realities. The enhanced point of significance is then destroyed, leaving a void, which is filled by the Antithesis (or rather, is not filled, preventing a re-establishment of equilibrium). When the Antithesis returns to Aethos, therefore, the summoners should expect the power they sacrificed to enact the summons to return suddenly and explosively.
